Newnan, Georgia...You know it's the best (even if you won't admit it out loud)
Most everyone is going to say that their hometown is the best, but thats because all they know is their town and its where they are used to being. That aside, I would have to say that I am partial to my hometown. I am from Newnan, Georgia, "The City of Homes", which is located about 45 minutes south of Atlanta, the state capitol of Georgia. Newnan was a great place to grow up in all aspects of life from the people to the climate to the history and then some. For one thing, I am glad that I didn't grow up in Utah or anywhere that the majority of the population is LDS. In being the minority I had to truly stand up for what I believed in all the time. I couldn't just coast along and blend in with the people around me. Because of this I feel I have a stronger testimony of the gospel and am a better member of the church.
First of all, the people are amazing. They come from all walks of life; rich to poor, redneck to sophisticated. There are many different ethnicities represented from black and white to latino and asian which makes for a wonderfully diverse cultural atmosphere. What all these people have in common is their true blue southern hospitality. (And yes it really exists, its not just in movies). For example, when your driving, especially in neighborhoods, everybody waves to everybody no matter if they know them or not. People not only wave but they will also do anything for you no matter if it is helping push your car of the road when it breaks down of lending you their power saw. We also have some pretty famous people that also call Newnan their hometown such as Lewis Gizzard (cartoonest) Alan Jackson, the 2007 Bachelorette, the author of Gone With the Wind, and at least two US Olympians (track and field and equestrian)
Along with the people the climate/weather is far superior to that of most anywhere else. First and foremost it is so much easier to breath compared to here. At home the air is so thick that you can pretty much just drink it in. There is no of this being winded when you go up a measly flight of stairs. The summers can get pretty hot and sticky but the winters are short and mild with maybe one or two days of "snow" (aka icy slush that you can still see the ground underneath).
My town also has some pretty great history behind it. It is called "The City of Homes" due to it's status as a hospital town during the Civil War. Because it was a place to take wounded soldiers it was spared much of the destruction that the rest of the south suffered so many of the historic homes and buildings still stand and line the streets today. Newnan also was considered one of the richest cities in the country in the mid 1800's and the first college to offer Master of the Arts Degrees for women was located in Newnan. (Another random fact is that the road I live off of runs from Baltimore, Maryland to Pensacola, Florida and runs right past the White House in Washington DC).
Not only is the history and the people great, there are also a lot of things to do in Newnan. We have about 139 different restaurants a million shopping centres including an outdoor mall. The main attractions though are the two movie theatres and the bowling alley which also has pool and blacklight mini golf in it. (This is where me and my friends usually hang out because along with all that the bowling alley has to offer, the old movie theatre is right next door and we always got in for free because I had knew the people that worked there). There is also the annual tractor parade (you have to remember, I'm from Georgia) and the county fair (its pretty much the same as you see in the movies). From the athletic standpoint, we have a whole park devoted to soccer fields and there are a plethera of tennis courts, though my favorite thing to do was ride horses which I did weekly if the weather cooperated.
Newnan is also the location that some pretty big movies were filmed such as Remember the Titans, October Road, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Unseen, and of course Sweet Home Alabama along with many others.
So as you can clearly tell by all my supporting evidence, Newnan, Georgia is the best hometown a person can be from. Period end of discussion.

Oposing Side to Prevoius Argument
The meal plans at BYU are the best that I have ever seen. They allow you the freedom to choose which plan is the best for you so that you are not getting more or less than you need which saves you money that can then be put to other good uses. Along with being able to choose the amount of money you get, you also have the freedom to buy things pretty much anywhere on campus(minus the bookstore) that sells food. This commodity is very convenient in that you don't have to travel a long distance to a centralized place and you have a variety of different food options.

What I Dislike about BYU
The thing that I dislike the most about BYU are the meal plans. For one thing they are pretty expensive. (My meal plan costs more than my housing does). They are something that are a necessity and pretty much required for Freshmen to have, yet they charge an arm and a leg for them. The other problem I have with them is that after you pay way to much for them, if you dont use all the money in the alloted amount of time then you lose it. I find this totally unfair and unnecessary. If I pay for it then I want all of my money there whenever I decide that I want to use it. At the present time you are allowed 75 dollars to roll over, anything over that and you lose it. The school had made this into a business on the students expense and it should be stopped.
